Very disappointed with the service from Viking. Emailed 2 days before to be told my booking had been “upgraded”. What should have been a drop off, hand over and shuttle to the airport was changed to sort yourself out in the long stay car park and walk to the bus stop. Definitely not an upgrade. The car park was ridiculous with cars abandoned all over the place. Would not recommend.

LBA hold you hostage for money
LBA always had a policy of allowing 20 minutes free parking outside the terminal if dropping off/collecting disabled passengers. With no notice and no signage they changed the system to charge disabled passengers. They hold you to ransom and won’t open the barriers until you pay their extortionate fees. I argued with the car park operator but when I got nowhere I called the police and told them I was being held against my will. They attended and escorted me out of the car park, or they tried but the car park operator refused to open the barrier until the police paid £10 for parking. It was only after the police threatened to arrest them that they finally opened the barrier. They are a bunch of rip off merchants who should be regulated so that they allow ALL drivers 10 minutes grace to off load passengers and 20 minutes for disabled passengers.
They boast that there is 1hr free parking but on busy days it’s almost impossible to find a disabled bay, park on the road near the bus stop and they give you a ticket and once you finally get the passenger out, there is no space to get a wheelchair on.

I used the drop off pick up car park to collect my daughter. I checked on the website regarding charges for using this and they advertise free parking for up to 1 hour for electric vehicles. I parked my Nissan Leaf there for 8 minutes and was charged £5!
Emailed them about it and got a non sensical reply about there been no EV charging points there!

Thank you Chris for your help…
We parked in long stay car park for 2 weeks. We had a problem getting a shuttle bus to the terminal due to staff shortages and ended up walking. Upon our return we got the shuttle bus however we couldn't find our car. We hadn't made a note of the zone we parked in and due to our flight being 2 hours late, we're walking up and down in the rain looking. A car park van passed and the driver asked if we needed help. He ended up driving up and down looking and then went to a different car park and found our car. We are forever grateful to Chris for helping us and will never forget in future to take a picture of the zone we park in.

Booked meet and greet parking with ease. Turned up and dropped car outside terminal. Returned on flight and car was waiting there for me outside the terminal.
Couldn’t be simpler and doesn’t cost the earth. An absolute no brainier !!

LBA parking for passengers
Over the years I have found LBA to be the most car parking, passenger collection unfriendly airport I have used. I prefer to travel 60 miles to Manchester rather than use LBA 30 mins away. For car users it's an expensive unfriendly place.

We've used the Airport parking for years which has always been first class. Now the new car park layout for long stay has been introduced, I won't be using it again. I've paid £88 to essentially park my car a quatre of a mile away from the terminal. No shuttle bus, no help...nothing. left to drag our cases (up hill) to the terminal. I would advice everyone to use an alternative car park because the infrastructure isn't in place at all. In the winter months this will be even worse. We'll done Leeds Bradford Airport...top quality customer service. ?

Mayhem at the Long Stay pick-up point
I arrived on a flight from Lanzarote at 00:40 on 05/06/22 and, after collecting my case, went to the Long Stay car park pick-up point. This was already crowded because a plane from Alicante had landed at 00:20 and the one from Malaga landed at 00:45. Other planes from Palma and Tenerife also landed whilst I was waiting for the only shuttle bus operating.
When the shuttle bus arrived, both front and back doors were opened to let passengers and their luggage off. People at the head of the queue waiting for the shuttle had to wait for most of those on it to get their luggage off the racking and get off from the front door. In the meanwhile, in view of the numbers waiting, people in the middle of the queue got on the shuttle via the rear door almost filling it. This desperation was probably because they knew that as only one shuttle was operating - and by then it was after 02:00 - there would be a further long wait if they did not jump the queue.
A boast that the shuttle buses are every 15 minutes has very little value when hundreds of passengers arrive at the airport within minutes of each other and there is no disciplined way of queuing.
If airport management intend to keep customers using the Long Stay car park, they need to use a sufficient number of shuttles operating in line with the number of arrivals expected and have proper zig-zag railings to ensure that when shuttles finally do arrive, there is not a ‘free-for-all’ getting on them.

Signage for charging is not clear
Having parked in the 1 hour free car park, arriving in the dark, on leaving the car park, still in the dark, I did not see any signs about returning within an hour.
I had to return to pick up and on exiting the barrier, my wife and I were stunned to see a small sign on the barrier upright about returning within the hour. I had to pay £39 which seemed extortionate for an extra few minutes.
Signs should not be small, should not be hidden and should be displayed prominently. I did read the sign board on exit, but saw nothing about returning within the hour. It was only because it was now light and my wife noticed the sign, after being asked to pay.
Display charging signs more prominently and under lights, please!

Not so free 1hr free car park…
You can only enter 1hr free car park for free once a day. Which is not obvious from the signs. My taxi driver ended up paying 39£ charge. Which is rediculous.

Nice & easy parking.
One of the main benefits of using LBA is the convenient car parking. Online booking is easy and the numberplate recognition works well. We found the shuttle bus was operating regularly & the driver was polite and cheerful on both journeys. My only gripe is that the pickup point outside the terminal is not clearly signed.
Sentinel parking
Sentinel parking - Brilliant - lovely people and great service. Dug me out of a bad situation with the Meet and Greet service....read on......
Meet and Greet Service - absolute rubbish. Rang them a couple of hours before my flight to confirm I was just about to set out to the airport (as per their instructions), only to be told that they 'had a security breach at their compound' and could not provide a meet and greet service.
Local friends assured me this is a common occurance with this company.
Avoid them ! Use Sentinel parking instead - they do provide a good service unlike the company that operate the meet and greet.
